New Printer

Hi folks, I’ve only just joined and would like a bit of advice, I have a HP officejet Pro 8610 it is around 12 years old and is discontinued, I have been getting a message Cartridge Problem, I have replaced the ink cartridges with new ones and it is still the same error message, so have decided rather than repair due to the age of the printer to buy a new one. Any recommendations on which I should choose, its used primarily for home stuff so not loads of printing done, as we know the ink is the largest cost involved with owning a printer so ideally would like a printer that accepts 3rd party inks, also I would like reasonable quality possibly photo quality, Any help gratefully accepted
