P3005 Upgrade to Network configuration

Can I upgrade a non network version of an HP P3005 just by swapping the formatter board with Network capability?
The reason I'm asking is because the formatter board is bad and needs to be changed, and if I can upgrade it to be network capable version I figured it would be worth doing now.
