Pagewide M477 printer tray 1 paper jam

Recently tray 1 started with an issue saying no paper on tray even though paper is in the tray. When paper is recognised, a paper jam is indicated when to print. I notice that the pickup rollers do not turn even though a sound is made that the rollers should be turning.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
