Printer not printing preview exactly

Excel w/s for time on job has down arrows in 8th col. Total @ bottom has a left facing arrow pointing to total of hours on job. W/S is in excel; printer is HP LaserJet P3005dn. When w/s prints, down arrows disappear and left facing arrow prints as exclamation point. Even formatted the arrows as text.
