Ricoh SP 3410DN toner cartridge problem

I have a Ricoh Aficio SP 3410DN mono laser printer. I installed a new 5000 page toner cartridge (Ricoh SP 3500XA) about 2 months ago and soon the Smart Organizing Monitor was showing that the cartridge was almost empty. The Replace Printer cartridge light on the printer started blinking. Assuming the cartridge was defective, I returned it and installed another fresh Ricoh SP 3500XA cartridge. After printing 669 pages, the light is again blinking and the Smart Organizing Monitor shows the cartridge is “almost empty”.
