[SOLVED] Samsung printer dropping out regularly

I have Samsung 680ND color printer which has been losing contact with my PC for a year or more. I stopped it using a shared USB splitter with another printer by connecting it directly to my PC with a USB cable. After months of searches and phone calls, yesterday (1st Jan 2022) I was told that cables longer than 3 or 4 feet long can do this and it needed a direct ethernet connection - which I gave it and, to date, it appears the have solved this seemingly intractable issue.
