Third party multi function printer software

I just purchased a Samsung SCX-4828FN which appears to be a great as far as the printer goes, but the packaged software is TERRIBLE, the scan to pdf function appears to be one page at a time and you are unable to turn off the ocr feature which is good for about 1-2 minutes a page, the fax software is broken at best. What I am wondering is there a good third party software that I could use for scanning/faxing that will do the trick? If not im going to return a great printer for lack of decent software.
