USB connection reseting network settings

When I use my printer ( Samsung Xpress 2020 ) wirelessly there is no problem. But when I use the same printer with a USB connection it seems to reset my network settings and then I cannot connect to the printer via wifi anymore.
Does anyone know why or have a solution?
