Weird multiple copy issue - Brother HL-3140CW

I have a Brother HL-3140CW networked to print from a Windows7 machine and an Ubuntu machine. I can print from either machine fine. My problem is if the last job printed was multiple copies from the Windows machine, then the Ubuntu machine will only print a multiple of that number of copies. For example, if I print 3 copies of something on Windows, then from the Ubuntu machine if I try to print 1 copy of something it will print 3, or if I print 2 copies it will print 6. If I go back to the Windows machine and print 1 copy of something, then the Ubuntu machine goes back to printing the correct number of copies.
