WF-3540 Scanner Error

Earlier today my WF-3540 stopped working, displaying Error Code: 0xF3. Followed all the instructions numerous times and managed to print a couple of pages before it shut down again and displayed the error. At last check, I noticed that the scanner arm did not return to it's normal idle position. It stopped one inch short of the left side of the scanner screen. Does anyone know how to fix that, other than taking it to a service center?
