Hi. On my XP 235 if I scan on full auto the image scanned comes out oversize and I cant find anyway to change the setting. If I go to home or professional setting, it does scan the original size but then printer crashes, states cannot communicate. After, I cannot open until I leave it, turn off and come back to scan another day. Has anyone any ideas. Many thanks in anticipation.

See this:

Download & Install Epson Scan application under Drivers here:
https://www.epson.ie/support?productID=15954#product_search

You can resize scan images this app.

  1. Open EPSON Scan.
  2. Make sure Epson Scan is in Professional Mode. ...
  3. Click the Preview button to preview your image(s).
  4. Select your scan area from the Preview window.
  5. When you are ready to scan, click File Save Settings.
  6. The File Save Settings window appears.
  7. Select PDF as the Type setting.

Many thanks for advice.
My problem is I cannot scan at original size in full auto setting. It scans larger and I can't see how to reduce.
If I set on professional, home, office. I can get one scan that is same as the original but then scan crashes and I have to wait several hours, turn everything off and try again and then it may work. The crash says cannot find connection.
Therefore, I can do one scan but not more at same time.
I do not want to scan a selected part of original. I just want to scan the same size as the original on a repeated basis.
Many thanks

Take a look at this:
Could be your Anti Virus or Firewall causing the delayed action problem
See this link:
https://windowsreport.com/antivirus-blocking-printing/
and this link:

and this:
https://www.printerforums.net/threa...om-windows-firewall-or-avast-antivirus.67004/

Just to try, turn off your Firewall and Antivirus temporarily and try scanning again.
Thanks again. I'll give them a try. Regards. Paul

Paul here is another thought: My previous assumes you have your printer setup for networking via router.
You might also try USB direct connect to computer, which eliminates Firewall and Anti-Virus problem.
You must disable network access prior USB hookup. Good luck

Many thanks again. I'm afraid I looked at the previous stuff and it's beyond my capabilities! My printer is connected via USB. Issue is I've never had any problems before and I haven't added anything different, same ant virus and as I don't know what I am doing I never mess around with the computer settings. I mainly use as a word processor and quick brows of web sites.

Ok Paul. Assuming you have Windows 7 thru 10

If you wish to make one more try, follow this:
Click Start (bottom left of your screen)
Type Devices and Printers
Click Devices and Printers (just above search window)
Or you can select Devices and Printers from Control Panel
Right click your XP-235 icon
Click remove device (printer now un-installed)
Do same if you have any other XP-235 icons showing
Re-install printer using Epson Install CD
Do not interrupt install process.
Now try your scanning process

Remaining alternative is to re-install Windows and start from scratch
Good Luck

Thanks. I have reinstalled printer and I reinstalled windows 10 a couple of months ago as PC crashed.
No harm to try again with printer.
Thanks
Paul
