XP-6000 - printing photos

Trying, for the 1st time, to print photos with the XP-6000. everything prints to 8 1/2 x 11 paper. I have photo paper in the correct tray. I've selected 4x6 paper, I've selected 'Glossy.' All printing is from photos of JPG extension. Using Windows Photo Viewer.
I've tried DLing Epson Print Layout. I'm out of ideas. All I want is to print some 4x6. Guidance, please.
