This tactic feels deceptive and unfair, as it forces loyal customers like myself to purchase Epson's overpriced ink. Printers are expensive enough, and this approach adds unnecessary financial burden.
I believe customers should have the freedom to choose affordable alternatives without being penalized by restrictive firmware. This move shows a lack of care for customer satisfaction and loyalty. I hope Epson reconsiders this practice and prioritizes the needs of its users over profit. Until then, I cannot recommend Epson products to others.
