I bought used epson l1110. I noticed black spots on back page after printing. I suspect its because pad plate is dirty. Ran the cleaning in driver, but still it doesnt print correctly... I disassembled it completely, and its pretty dirty inside. Is it ok to wash the printer case with shower head, and should i submerge it? is it ok drying it with heat phan afterwards? If not how should i clean it?

Nah, don’t submerge it—that’ll mess things up bad. You can wash the plastic case with water, but keep electronics and mechanical parts dry. Best to wipe it down with a damp cloth and some isopropyl alcohol. For drying, avoid a heat gun; just let it air dry or use a hairdryer on low.

Thanks for your answer. Everything is clean now but the print head is not printing at all. not a drop of ink. Mechanism is working fine, printhead moves on its path, the paper is moving perfectly but nothing, no ink at all... I ran the cleaning program in driver but nothing still...

Sounds like the printhead might be clogged or dried out. If you haven’t already, try removing it and soaking it in warm (not hot) distilled water for a bit sometimes dried ink blocks it completely. Let it dry fully before reinstalling. Also, check if your ink cartridges are actually dispensing ink by dabbing the nozzle on a paper towel. If nothing works, the printhead might be dead and need replacing.

thanks! i already flushed it with syringe and it works now. I guess its better to submerge it like you suggested in order to not damage the nozzels, but i was also afraid that water might spill in ic inside the head.
